CRM & customer data

What to prepare before a CDP implementation

Plan a useful first CDP journey with a worked sampling example: source records, identity, operating owners, demonstration tests and a defined first release.

PangoCDP product documentation: the profile should connect with a defined audience, action and returned result.

A useful CDP implementation begins with a customer moment the business is ready to improve. “Combine all our data” describes an activity; it does not yet explain who will use the result or what should happen differently.

Choose a first journey that has an operating owner, accessible source records and a result you can verify. Then prepare the information, decisions and connections needed to make that journey work.

Describe one first use case

State the audience, the customer’s reason to interact and the next useful action. Identify the channel the audience already uses and the team responsible if a response needs personal attention.

For example, a household-products brand might want to follow up after a sample has actually been fulfilled. The first programme could request feedback and route a service question to a person. Wider loyalty features, additional channels and predictive scoring can remain later scope until that initial journey is working.

Bring representative records and named owners

Include an ordinary record, a duplicate, a shared contact, a late update and a correction. Agree whether the model represents an individual, household, account or outlet and preserve relationships that should remain separate.

Prepare the field definitions and timing for the first sources. A spreadsheet export may be enough to inspect the records, while the operating programme may need a supported connection, an API or custom engineering. The interface and required update timing determine that scope.

The marketing team should own the customer purpose and content decisions. Source-system owners confirm what the records mean. A technical owner maintains the exchange, and the receiving service team agrees how it will work the returned tasks.

Ask the demonstration to prove the complete route

A useful PangoCDP demonstration can show one profile and its source context, a defined audience with an exclusion, and a drag-and-drop flow with the relevant trigger, condition, wait and action. Follow a response into the record used to measure it.

Test a customer who has already purchased, a preference change during a waiting step, a sample that has not been dispatched and a failed handover. Check the proposed behaviour with the person who will operate the programme. Agree which conditions the chosen configuration supports and which need further work.

See the segment refresh guide for the distinction between source updates, recalculation and the next communication action.

Define the first release and its operating routine

Write down the included data sources, journeys, channels, custom components, migration and training. Identify software access and external messaging, cloud, advertising or reward costs, together with the delivery and support responsibilities. A fixed launch date is useful only when its dependencies are understood.

Begin with a controlled population the team can inspect. Review eligibility, delivery, responses, service follow-up and unresolved exceptions against agreed definitions. Name the person who can pause the programme and the team that will investigate a problem.

An existing CRM can remain responsible for customer work. Twin CRM is an option when those operational capabilities are needed; customised applications and integration can address the surrounding requirements. The platform comparison helps separate those decisions.

Twin can turn this preparation into a practical PangoCDP evaluation and a defined first implementation. Bring the journey, its owner and a small set of representative records so the demonstration answers a real business question.
