The real data problem was not volume. It was getting different functions to work from the same meaning.
Sales, Inventory, Supply Chain, Finance, Production, Procurement and Marketing each depend on data—but the underlying information came from different operational systems and reporting processes. Every cross-functional question risked becoming another exercise in collecting, reconciling and interpreting separate views.
The programme therefore had to solve two problems at once: connect the sources technically, and preserve the ownership, definitions and governance that make shared reporting trustworthy.
Twin built an Enterprise Data Hub that brought information from systems including DMS, SAP, MEMS, CMMS and Excel into a shared data and business-intelligence environment.

Why the data foundation mattered
From repeated reconciliation to a common view across functions
The programme reduced manual data handling and enabled more self-service reporting. More importantly, teams gained a common foundation for analysing activity across functions instead of rebuilding the data picture whenever a new question was asked.
That combination is the important lesson from the project: integration without governance creates another data pool, while dashboards without trusted definitions create another reporting problem. The programme addressed both sides together.

Suntory PepsiCo shows Twin working well beyond the front end: connecting enterprise systems, data ownership, governance and practical reporting into a platform that can support decisions across the organisation.
The project also shows why enterprise data programmes should not begin with dashboard design. A useful dashboard depends on consistent definitions, accountable ownership and reliable movement from source systems into the shared model. Building that foundation first makes reporting easier to extend and gives different functions a common language for the same business question.
